Does this sound familiar?

❌ A dancer tells you they have a sore ankle, and your only response is ‘just do what you can’ because you’re not sure what else to do.

❌ You feel out of your depth when your dancers mention any pain, soreness or injury; you’re not sure the right thing to do is.

❌ You’re feeling burnt-out with no time, and you want better systems so you can focus on your creative visions.

❌ You’ve seen the rise of ‘dance strength’ trends on Instagram and aren’t sure what’s actually safe or effective … you end up with bands, balls and yoga blocks but not really sure why, how or what to do.

❌ You’re burning out trying to plan classes, choreograph, and manage multiple age groups and relying on guesswork to make it happen.

❌ You want confidence in your teaching, instead of relying on guesswork.

Here’s what you can expect in 16 weeks

✅ Greater confidence in your teaching approach

✅ Proven frameworks you can apply immediately in your classes

✅ A network of like-minded educators who support, not compete

✅ Recognition as a leader in dance excellence

✅ More time to be creative - less time guessing … or second-guessing

✅ Clear strategies to build stronger dancers

✅ Improved rehearsals without risking dancer burnout or breakdown

✅ Pride in creating a safe space for dancers to thrive, not just perform

✅ Legacy-level impact your students will remember forever

Founder Story

I’m Nic - founder of the Athletic Artist Method, the Dance Teachers Training Academy, and creator of this accredited certification. My performing career took me around the world, working with Emmy-nominated choreographers, performing on board world-leading cruise and in shows such as ‘SWING! The Broadway Musical’ … until a career-ending injury at 23 changed everything. I was burnt out chasing ‘hard work’ and ignored the warning signs that cost me the stage. In my world, I lived by the ‘show must go on’ mantra a little too literally, not knowing it was costing me my career and passion.

Having retired from the stage, I found that my performance credits could only take me so far. I could teach choreography to dancing bodies, but I didn’t know how to educate the individuals who danced in front of me.

The Certificate in Dancer’s Injury Prevention & Well-being (SCQF-8) was created to shape the next generation of dancers with holistic health at the heart of dance education. Dancers are more than just choreography in motion. They’re human beings, and how we teach them shapes how they dance, their beliefs about themselves and their ability. I knew my skillset needed to expand, so I qualified with an MSc in Dance Science and Education and became a UKSCA-accredited Strength & Conditioning Trainer.

This certification was born from lived experience, academic study, and the desire to raise the standard of dance education.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Phase 1: Movement & Mindset Mastery

Phase 1 looks like:

🎯 Goal 1: Understand the anatomy and movement mechanics of the dancing body … don’t worry, this isn’t the anatomy you’re thinking of, you know that one that was a ‘memory game’ in college? This is DANCE-ANATOMY, where you truly learn the complexities of the dancing body for technique development and reduced injury risks. This isn’t about remembering complex anatomy terms; it’s about deeply understanding dance in motion.

🎯 Goal 2: Understand the influencing developmental factors of a dancer’s journey, like maturation and growth spurts, so you can keep your dancers strong and safe through their training ... most importantly, so you can adapt classes to your dancers' growth to stop frustration, injury and drop-outs.

🎯 Goal 3: Understand the bio-psycho-social dancer’s world so you can guide, empower and encourage your dancers to achieve new heights. This can be make-or-break in a dancer’s journey, and you have the power to make a positive change.

You’ll also get access to:

Dance Education Toolkit – A collection of resources you can use in your next dance class, helping you understand exactly what you need to do protect and empower your dancers.

Phase 2: Athletic Artist Method for Dancers

Phase 2 looks like:

🎯 Goal 1: Upgrade your class content with our Athletic Artist Method. This Method is your dance-specific strength and conditioning map - no more scrolling Instagram for viral exercises that look cool, but you’re not sure how to teach. Instead, have access to our strategies and methods that can protect your dancers while advancing their skills and complementing their technique.

🎯 Goal 2: Integrate athletic training into your dance technique classes to take your dancers to new heights (quite literally!) faster, safer and better!

🎯 Goal 3: Use our method and strategies to spend less time planning classes and more time being creative ... the real reason you got into dance teaching.

You’ll also get access to:

Athletic Artist Method - 6 weeks access to our Athletic Artist Library. This isn’t part of the course, but it’s a tool that will be a game-changer in your teaching.

Phase 3: Leave a Legacy

Phase 3 looks like:

🎯 Goal 1: Learn how to speak your dancers' language so you can truly be and communicate like the expert you’re becoming - not just to a small group of dancers, but to the whole class. Level up to build an ethos that makes you the favourite teacher!

🎯 Goal 2: Integrate feedback mechanisms that land with your dancers - understanding different learning styles so you can see progress across your entire class, not just a select few.

🎯 Goal 3: Connect and communicate better than ever before with your dancers and become the teacher your dancers adore!

You’ll also get access to:

Our Legacy Builder – Your key to creating your own teaching ethos and leaving a legacy for the next generation of dancers and setting a new standard in dance education.

PLUS:

  • Study online, on your own schedule (4-6 hrs p/w)

  • Two in-person immersion days to connect, learn and collaborate with fellow dance teachers (week 8 & week 16)

  • Tutor & peer support

  • Q&A Support

TRANSFERABILITY

This course is not style-specific or syllabus-specific. You can blend the tools, resources and knowledge into your own teaching, while also collaborating with our other members.

You’re an expert at teaching choreography and leaving an audience entertained. But you’re teaching individuals who dance, not just dancing bodies - that requires mastering the art of teaching, not just the art of dance.

Who is it for?

You’re perfect for this if:

✅ You’re a dance teacher who wants to stop second-guessing corrections and feedback, and instead, you want to teach with research-backed, proven methods that complement dance technique to help your dancers accelerate safely and confidently

✅ You’re a dance educator with performance credits who has mastered the art of dance, but hasn’t been taught the art of teaching … you’re teaching how you were taught, and you want to help set a new standard in dance education

✅ You’re committed to educating individuals who dance, not just teaching choreography to dancing bodies to create Athletic Artists, not robots

✅ You spend hours scrolling the internet for new exercises to use in class but end up more confused on how they work, what they do and if you are teaching them correctly

✅ You want to be an industry leader by becoming a Certified Injury Prevention & Well-being Dance Educator

This isn’t for you if:

🚫 You just want to copy the ‘norm’

🚫 You only see yourself as a dance teacher, not an influential leader in your dancers' lives

🚫 You’re happy going the long way to your dancer’s success because you’re navigating gaps in your skillset
